Junior Eurovision Song Contest: Gaia glows in Copenhagen

There was more than one winner emerging from Saturday’s final of the Eurovision Song Contest. As part of her prize for winning 2013 Junior Eurovision Song Contest (JESC), 11-year-old Gaia Cuchi of Malta performed at the B&W Hallerna arena before a combined viewing audience of more than 170 million people worldwide.

Gaia was introduced to song contest fans by Danish entertainment host Lise Rønne and delighted the live audience by singing a few bars of her self-penned composition The Start.

The 2014 Eurovision Song Contest was won by 25-year-old Conchita Wurst of Austria who scored 290 points for Rise Like A Phoenix.

The production was transmitted over the Eurovision and Euroradio networks via Danish host and EBU Member DR.

This year’s JESC will be presented by Maltese broadcaster and EBU Member Public Broadcasting Services (PBS) on Saturday 15 November.

Executive Supervisor Vladislav Yakovlev and Anton Attard, CEO of PBS, and Executive Producer of the 2014 edition, revealed this year's logo and slogan -  #together - at a press conference in Copenhagen.

Several countries have already started their national selections for 2014. More information can be found at JuniorEurovision.tv.
