With live performances being an important source of income for artists these days, we'll be looking at the future of music festival and concert coverage on TV, as well as how to introduce emerging artists cross-borders in Europe. We'll also be hosting a workshop the BBC Radio 1's Head of Music Chris Price. Join us for these special panel discussions at the Eurosonic Festival conference in Groningen.

The European Border Breakers Charts

The European music scene is absolutely buzzing these days and "border breakers" are something to be reckoned with. The European Border Breakers Charts (EBBC) rank the most successful new tracks by upcoming artists crossing borders in Europe. The Charts are based on airplay measured by Radiomonitor on 50 radio stations across Europe.

What's the State of Music on TV these days?

While there are still several important long running music shows on TV in Europe, the reality is that there is now less music being shown on television. With live gigs as the most important source of income for artists nowadays, the future looks bleak for festivals to secure TV coverage. Is there still a future for music on TV?  Can online platforms provide new opportunities?

EBU Eurosonic Group Meeting

The annual gathering of the Eurosonic Group and producers from participating EBU stations will take place at the De Ronde Zaal (Oval Office) in the main conference building.

Keynote: Chris Price - Digital Music: Navigating the Teen Years

Prior to the keynote, there will be a short introduction by Peter Smidt and Elfie Tromp. Chris Price is the Head Music at BBC Radio 1, the world's most prestigious youth radio network, reaching about 40% of young UK listeners every week.
