General Assembly

The General Assembly is the supreme governing body of the EBU and possesses all powers necessary for accomplishing the Union’s objectives including the definition of the organization’s strategy and approval of its finances.

The Assembly meets twice a year: the summer session is open for all Members and Associates and is hosted by a Member organization; the winter session is limited to Members and is held in Geneva.

We are pleased to announce that the 93rd EBU General Assembly will take place exceptionally in Lausanne this year, at the Millennium Conference Centre. The event will be held on Thursday, 5 December and Friday, 6 December.

The GA will, once again, coincide with the AI Summit, which is now in its second edition. Governance topics will be covered on the afternoon of Day 1 (5 December). Day 2 (6 December) will be entirely dedicated to high-level AI-themed sessions. As with last year, the morning of Day 2 will be open to all EBU members, with GA delegates encouraged to stay for the entire Summit, even after the official closure of the GA at midday.

Evening Reception

GA delegates are invited to an evening reception on Thursday, 5 December, in Lausanne. More details on the venue and timing will be provided shortly.

Registration

Registration for the event will open towards the end of August or early September. Delegates can register directly on this page using their EBU account.

Transport and Accommodation

Delegates are advised to make their way to Lausanne by train, directly from Geneva Airport, where a fast and reliable service is provided by the Swiss Railways (SBB).  For tickets and timetable visit the SBB website.

For the return journey, we will provide bus transfers directly from the venue to Geneva Airport from Friday midday through to the end of the event to accommodate flight schedules. Transport between hotels in central Lausanne and the event venue will also be provided.

Bus timetables and all relevant event information will be made available via the event app, which delegates can access after registering.

A selection of hotels in Lausanne city centre or close to the venue will be available to GA participants. Please watch this space for updates.

We look forward to welcoming you to this important gathering in Lausanne.
