RAI's Prix Italia celebrates 70th anniversary in September
12 April 2018Prix Italia, organised by Italian Member RAI, will celebrate its 70th anniversary this year on Capri, the Mediterranean island where it was founded in 1948.
The theme of the Festival, taking place from 25 - 29 September, will be The Memory of the Future. On this occasion the complete newly digitalized Prix Italia Archive will be officially presented. It includes all the programmes submitted by Prix Italia members from 1948 to the present day.
Together with the Special Prize of the President of the Italian Republic, the official competition will be divided into 8 categories: 3 for Radio programmes (Music, Drama, Documentary and Reportage), 3 for TV programmes (Performing Arts, Drama, Documentary) and 2 for Web projects (Factual, Entertainment).
Furthermore, a new Cross-Platform Special Prize, free of charge, envisages the entry of multimedia projects developed on various platforms and interactive with the audience in a number of different ways. It celebrates creative use of archive legacy underpinning cultural value.
Each broadcasting organisation may compete with a maximum of 13 entries (4 Radio programmes, 4 TV programmes, 4 Web projects and 1 Special Prize project).
Prix Italia provides an occasion to share ideas, attend special events, meet representatives of international broadcasters and participate in workshops and conferences on topical issues.
