Public service media (PSM) are demonstrating resilience to general declining trust in media. In a context of erosion of trust in institutions, continuing to evaluate and re-think their trustworthiness is paramount. In this, PSM face a complex task, as trust is a multidimensional concept.
This article offers a new perspective on the relationship between trust and public service media, using EBU’s six PSM core values of universality, independence, excellence, diversity, accountability and innovation.
